Video Destination Digital Media to Webcast New York Fashion Week Events for Eighth Consecutive Season
New York, September 8, 2011 — Video Destination Digital Media (http://videodestination.nyc), a leading provider of video production and webcasting services, is pleased to announce its continued participation in New York Fashion Week for the eighth consecutive season.
Video Destination will webcast and/or shoot Spring 2012 New York Fashion Week events including:
- Shopbop at Fashion’s Night Out (8 p.m., Sept. 8)
- Jason Wu (1 p.m., Sept. 9)
- ELLE FASHION | NEXT (7 p.m., Sept. 9)
- Lacoste (10 a.m., Sept. 10)
Live broadcasts of the events should be accessible at the links listed above at the times designated; on-demand video is also scheduled to be available after the live events.
“Technology evolves so quickly that each Fashion Week we’ve done has had its own set of challenges, and I think we’ve been able to consistently exceed expectations,” said Video Destination Chief Operating Officer Kevin Brail. “One way we’re doing that is with streaming to Facebook. More and more designers are exclusively streaming their live video to Facebook or using Facebook in addition to streaming to their own sites. Data shows that when video is broadcast on a website or a Facebook page, the video has a longer viewing time on Facebook. So, we’re happy to be able to help designers share their creations with an even larger audience. Similarly, we’re seeing a lot of requests for i-device-friendly and multi-bitrate streams, both of which we’re well versed in.”
“We’re also excited to do more video production at Fashion Week this season, in addition to webcasting,” said Brail. “We look at what we do as the perfect blend of art and science, and shooting a runway show really connects to the creative side of our business.”
Video Destination was previously responsible for webcasting more than 200 New York Fashion Week shows, with over 60 for the Fall 2011 event alone.
