Video Destination Digital Media Acquires Destination Video
Destination Video’s video production and high-volume digital asset management capabilities complement Video Destination’s suite of online video services
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 02, 2011 — Video Destination Digital Media (http://videodestination.nyc), a leading provider of video production and webcasting services, announced today the completion of its acquisition of boutique video production specialty firm Destination Video Inc. (http://www.videodestination.com). With more than eight years in business, Destination Video serviced thousands of clients as one of New York City’s leading post-production and duplication facilities. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Destination Video built its reputation on technical video production expertise and an emphasis on high-quality, personal service. Its high-volume digital asset management capabilities enabled the archiving, or transferring, of virtually any legacy media format to video, which will complement Video Destination’s suite of services. In addition to video production and live webcast solutions, Video Destination specializes in encoding video, hosting/streaming video, and building customized video players.
Video Destination has also retained Destination Video’s team of video experts, including former president Ryan Johnston, who becomes Video Destination’s director of video production. “Having been familiar for quite some time with Video Destination and their innovative work in the digital video space, I’m extremely pleased to be part of what they’re doing,” said Johnston. “While I’m proud of the work my team and I did for Destination Video and feel that we can really enhance Video Destination’s video encoding capabilities, it’s also pretty exciting to get involved with their impressive live webcasting technology.”
“We are thrilled to add Destination Video’s equipment, services, and talent to Video Destination. Ryan has built a great business, and we welcome all of his clients,” said Gary Kahn, Video Destination’s president. “We hope that our focus on Internet media can help add a new dimension to his digitization and duplication services — we’re essentially building on their archiving of legacy formats and now putting it all online. Ryan has some unique technology to digitize 8mm and 16mm film, and we are very excited to bring this to the Web.”
“Video Destination started by offering encoding services, so we are pleased to expand our capabilities in this area,” said Kevin Brail, Video Destination’s chief operating officer. “The acquisition of Destination Video allows us to convert a greater variety of traditional media to digital formats for our clients. Ryan’s team of seasoned video professionals are a great addition to our live webcasting and video production offerings as well.”
